These programs can be helpful and are good teaching tools. It must be realized, however, that these programs do not take into account the position and effect of the lids on the lens positioning and movement. Therefore, these programs may help in selecting the first diagnostic lens, especially with unusual corneas, however they do not replace evaluating a diagnostic lens on the eye.
